An Abandoned Rooftop Ballroom Crowns A Defunct Hotel in Kiev
Built in 1880 and originally knows as the Rooms Ilyinskaya, the long-closed Hotel Saint Petersburg lingers in the heart of historic Kiev, Ukraine.
While the building's exterior may not merit much excitement and the musty rooms recall the modesty of the Cold War era, the folks from Abandoned Places realized what loomed overhead.
An expansive parquet floored ballroom sits below a soaring ceiling, with glass walls wrapping around to provide incredible views of some of Kiev's most notable buildings, including the gilded dome atop the church of St. Sophia.
